Mark BeairdLPC, MAC, SAP

Mark Beaird Perspective is shaped over a lifetime by countless experiences and how we choose to respond to those experiences. It was just such a process that led me into the counseling profession. Many years ago, as a young pastor, almost completely debilitated by depression and anxiety, I was in doubt as to what to do or to where I could turn for help in understanding what would help other than prayer.

It was answered prayers that led to practical useful help that was completely compatible with my Christian faith. This in turn, led me to the study of counseling psychology in seminary and ultimately to a career in counseling. Now, I combine the knowledge of the subject with my understanding of what it means to personally experience anxiety and depression. It's a perspective that has helped me to help others.

Other experiences have been combined with academic knowledge, such as being married over 40 years, rearing two daughters, over thirty-four years of ministerial work and much more, to influence my perspective in helping me see the person(s) and not just the problem. Presently, my focus is on helping men of all ages navigate life, family, marriage, careers, being an emotionally healthy man in our society and more.
